Historic Town of Milton
Incorporated on December 23, 1796

 

The Town of Milton has a motto of “the museum without walls where preserving the past is our future!”. Visitors from all over have enjoyed Milton for the hospitality, antique shops, as well as, the history of famous North Carolina cabinetmaker, Thomas Day.

The Thomas Day House/Union Tavern in Milton has been recognized as a National Historic Landmark; as well as, the Milton State Bank, it was the first property in Caswell County listed with the National Register, April 1973.

Living in Milton is not about separating the past from the future. It is about managing revolutionize with integrating the past and future in ways that improve the quality of life in our community; and preserve the unique qualities that make Milton such a great place to live and visit.

Town of Milton is located along the beautiful Dan River on the central northern border of North Carolina and Virginia. And the northernmost point of the Colonial Heritage Scenic Byway, so please add our historic town to your travel plans.
